Inventory position = on-hand + on-order − backorders. Reorder point = daily demand × lead days + safety stock. Target = daily demand × (lead + review days) + safety stock. A position at or below the point triggers review; only a positive target shortage creates an order.
Suggested order rounds the larger of shortage and MOQ up to a full pack. MOQ does not create a purchase above the trigger. Open orders are assumed usable; the tool does not time-phase receipts or forecast demand.
One consistent unit per SKU
Use the template’s eleven headers and one row per SKU. Demand may have up to six decimals; other quantities, lead/review days and packs are whole numbers. Lead 1–365 days; review 0–365 days. Do not add quantities from unlike units together.
Try the free Excel sample for product setup, stock balances and pack-rounded reorder suggestions. The full AUD29 kit adds the overview and stocktake, with 200 product rows and 2,000 movement rows.
