Choose what the label must do
| Need | Starting tool |
|---|---|
| Readable aisle, shelf or bin identifier | Plain-text bin labels |
| Scan a stable SKU or internal identifier | Barcode and QR labels |
| Open a link, show text or join guest Wi-Fi | QR code creator |
| Identify numbered cartons in a shipment | Shipping marks |
These are different tasks. A bin label is not automatically a barcode, a shipping mark is not a paid postage label, and a QR symbol does not itself create a stock lookup or update an ERP.
Create a stable location sequence
Agree on a location pattern before printing: for example aisle–bay–level, with consistent separators and zero padding. In the bin tool, prefix 01-A-, start 8, count 3 and two-digit padding produce 01-A-08, 01-A-09 and 01-A-10. Check that the sequence does not duplicate an existing location.
The plain-label preview and CSV preserve the entered location text and note. If you need a scannable version, paste the approved identifiers into the barcode label tool separately; do not assume that printing readable text also generated a symbol.
Generate and verify symbols
Code 128 works for supported printable ASCII identifiers such as SKU-001. Use QR for Chinese or other Unicode text. EAN-13, UPC-A and ITF-14 need the right digit count and check digit; validation checks those mathematical properties, not registration, ownership or permission to use the number.
In a generated batch, use Previous and Next to review each label and download the selected SVG when needed. The PDF retains the complete generated batch. In explicit data-only mode the tool may append a check digit; inspect both the original input and resulting code before using it.

Print at the intended size
- Generate one small test batch and download its PDF. Use actual size / 100%, keeping the white border and the full symbol.
- Check readability on the intended paper and scan with the device used in the warehouse. A successful screen preview is not a physical-print quality test.
- On iPhone, open the PDF and use Share > Print where supported. A Home Screen web app may need the prepared-file share or download path; available printer actions depend on the device.
If a QR opens a link, check the exact destination before distributing it. A Wi-Fi QR contains the supplied network details, including its password when used; share it only with intended users. Changing a static QR’s content requires creating a new code.
Keep labels aligned with stock records
Use the same approved SKU and location spelling in the label list and inventory file. Store identifiers as text and keep a controlled master list before a large print run. The website scan list is a local session record; it is not synchronized inventory and does not deduct stock.
